CBN.com - The phrase "once saved, always saved" is not found in the Bible. Our salvation is past, present, and future. That implies a continuous relationship and an unfolding process rather than a fixed state. The person who has given himself or herself to Jesus Christ and has truly repented from sin can find repeated assurances of the eternal covenant given to His people by a God who cannot lie. The Bible tells us that the gifts and calling of God are without repentance (see Romans 11:29). The work of Jesus Christ is eternal. It will never be revoked. Apart from the Bible, the greatest assurance any Christian has of eternal security is the day-by-day witness of the Holy Spirit in his life that he is a child of God and the fact that day-by-day he is becoming more like Jesus.
The Bible teaches security in the Holy Spirit and in the things of God. Jesus said, "My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father's hand" (John 10:29). So we are secure in the hand of God, and we are to rest secure in the Lord. God has put His Spirit within us; He has given His Word to us. Jesus Christ is at the right hand of God, constantly making intercession on our behalf; (see Hebrews 7:25) and God has sent angels to watch over us (see Hebrews 1:14). In other words, we are surrounded by tremendous helps. We should constantly remind ourselves that we are secure, that God loves us, and that we belong to Him.
The reason we are saved is not because we are holy or do good works, but because of the blood of Jesus. Salvation comes through faith, and it stays because of faith. So we should have a feeling of security. But, at the same time, there should be a healthy fear of falling. We should not presume on God and say, "I am saved, so I can do anything I want to." Paul condemned people who were teaching that a person could sin boldly so that God's grace could abound (see Romans 6:1-2). If we truly are dead to sin, then we are not going to live in sin any longer, but we will aim to serve God.
We should walk with reverence, because God is a consuming fire, a very awesome Being (see Hebrews 12:29). I would not counsel anybody to presume on God because of a doctrine of eternal security. Anybody who says, "I believe that once I am saved, I am always saved, so I am going to go out and commit adultery and steal and lie and cheat and rob," is being very foolish. If somebody really loves God, those things would not be present in his life.
I have walked with God for nearly thirty years, and for the last twenty-five years or so, I have never even thought about the possibility of losing my salvation. It just is not a reality for me at all. The reason is that I live for the Lord. The thought of doing otherwise just does not occur to me. Do I commit acts of sin? Yes. Do I fail God? Yes. Are there things I should do that I do not do? Yes. I need the cleansing forgiveness of the Lord constantly. My concern is that I realize God's purpose for my life and that I do not fall short of what He intends for me. But as far as losing my salvation, it just does not come up for me, nor should it for any sincere Christian.
Rebuttal:
The 'Continuous' relationship he is speaking of exists ONLY for those who are STEADFAST in the faith, Rom2:7. No where does scripture imply that our future sins are forgiven 'before' we commit them. The foreknowledge of God is NOT predestination. If it were impossible for a truly converted person to never fall away from the faith, as Robertson implies, why then does scripture constantly warn us to Remain Steadfast, Hold fast and Continue in the faith? (1Cor15:2, Heb3:14, Col1:23) Throughout the Gospel Jesus is speaking of a PRESENT tense salvation, John3:16, "He who is NOW believing & CONTINUES to do so, shall inherit eternal life." In the original language of the Bible the Present Action is stressed when rendering the action. In other words, John10:27-28 is NOT a promise of eternal security without conditions, as many seem to believe. Rather it is saying that "MY sheep who are NOW hearing My voice & NOW following Me, have eternal life & no one can unexpectedly snatch them out of My hand!" In the original context this it NOT saying that you can 'continue' in known & willful sin and remain secure in Christ. Just the opposite. Such verses as John3:36, & 1John5:13 make this contextual meaning clear. Jn3:36 "He who OBEYS not the Son, shall not see life!" , 1Jh5:13 "These things I have written to you who believe in the Son, that you may KNOW that you have eternal life & that you may CONTINUE to believe."
The Gifts & the calling of God may be irrevocable, but look again at the CONTEXT in which this promise is given, Rom11:11-36. Verse 22: "Therefore consider the goodness & the severity of God, on those who fell severity, but toward you goodness, IF YOU CONTINUE in His goodness. Otherwise you ALSO will be CUT off." I really don't know how it could be any more crystal clear than this. Short of asking the Apostle Paul himself whether salvation can be lost through sin, this states unequivocally you will INDEED be CUT off if you fail to continue in the faith. Now think about verse 29. Can God lie? His Gift & offer of Salvation to mankind cannot be revoked, but that doesn't mean it's an Un-Conditional promise of eternal life no matter what you do. (see the difference?) The osas preachers are lairs. Mis-leading you into hell fire!
Jesus is able to SAVE to the utter most those who come to God through Him, Heb7:25, because of what it states in the CONTEXT of chapter 7. He 'continues' as a Priest forever, unchangeable, offering the 'better' covenant. (because he died & rose again!) WHERE is the promise that you are saved forever no matter what you do? Throughout the entire book of Hebrews the Apostle issues warning after warning. "Be diligent to enter, lest you fall after the same example of disobedience!" Heb4:11 "Show the same diligence to the FULL assurance of the hope until the end. DO NOT become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith & STEADFAST endurance inherit the promise!" Heb6:11-12 "Therefore DO NOT cast away your confidence which has great reward. For you have need of STEADFAST endurance, so that after you have DONE the will of God, you may inherit the promise!" Heb10:35-36 Now who's telling you the truth? The lying osas preachers or the Scriptures written by God Himself?
Correct we 'Saved' NOT by any righteous deeds of our own, BUT we STAY saved by remaining Diligent & Steadfast in the faith. NOTHING could be more plain in scripture. Even Abraham of whom Rom4:3 says, "He believed God & it was accounted to him for righteousness." DID NOT remain passive afterward. NO! Scripture goes on to state that he was not WEAK in faith, he did not waver through unfaithfulness, he ENDURED and was fully convinced that God would deliver him. THEN it was accounted to him for righteousness! Rom4:19-21 Part of the responsibility rests with man, to CLEANSE himself, KEEP himself Pure, Guard his heart, and CONTINUE in the faith! (2Cor7:1, 1Tim5:22, 1Pet1:22, Heb3:14) And again in Hebrew11:8 it says Abraham OBEYED God and went forth to inherit the promise. By faith, you MUST go forth with God to inherit the promise of eternal life. If you remain in sin, do not cleanse your heart, walk in purity and guard yourself from the pitfalls of satan, you WILL indeed be defiled by the flesh and end up in hell....even if you ONCE believed & received Christ. The lie of osas makes it natural to drop your guard and become complacent about sin. "Why not indulge the flesh if nothing I do matters?" Under osas there is no reverent fear of God or deep felt desire to WALK in newness of life, Put on the New man or take up the Cross. It become optional because there's no penalty if I don't!
Notice how he says that eternal security doesn't mean you can go out and do anything you want and remain saved....they ALL tell you this. AND then turn right around and say what's in the very next paragraph. "No body's perfect! We all sin everyday, everyone falls short of God's commands, but GRACE keeps you!" HOGWASH!!! This is like saying that Christians can't be trusted, they LUST for everything and everybody, Lie, cheat, steal & commit acts of immoral behavior! What's the difference??? IF the PURPOSE of the COMMANDANT is not LOVE & HEART PURITY, 1Tim1:5, then WHAT is it? If Grace is not the Divine Power of God to CLEANSE the Heart from the corrupting influence of sin, 2Pet1:4, is a LIE! And if man remains in the exact same wretched condition he was when found by Christ, WHY get 'saved' in the first place? So you can have a 'form' of godliness and a phony self-assurance. DON'T tell me that anyone living in daily defilement of flesh has any divine assurance from God that he is saved by Grace. The WORKS of the flesh are evident, Gal5:19-21, read them, THEY DESCRIBE today's churches in a nutshell...immorality, lust, uncleanness, evil behavior, self-seeking, jealousy, contentions, strife, gossip, adultery, hatred...NAME it! WHERE are those who have CRUCIFIED the flesh with it's passions and desires? Gal5:24. WHO is putting to death the deeds of the body by the Power of the Spirit so that he will LIVE? Rom8:13 And WHERE is this NEW CREATION spoken of by God, 2Cor5:17, with the OLD THINGS past away and the NEW THINGS come? The lie of osas has deceived millions and every where you turn it is being taught and held forth as the Gospel. Your ONLY hope is to turn away from these smooth talking preachers to the TRUTH of God's WORD & Seek Him until He is revealed.
Lying Signs and Wonders!
This weekend's catastrophic earthquake in South Asia in the wake of recent U.S. hurricanes and December's tsunami is catching the eye of televangelist Pat Robertson, who says we "might be" in the End Times described in the Bible. "These things are starting to hit with amazing regularity," Robertson said on CNN's "Late Edition." Robertson, a former GOP presidential candidate and host of the "700 Club" daily Christian TV show, noted, "If you read back in the Bible, the letter of the apostle Paul to the church of Thessalonia, he said that in the latter days before the end of the age that the Earth would be caught up in what he called the birth pangs of a new order. And for anybody who knows what it's like to have a wife going into labor, you know how these labor pains begin to hit. I don't have any special word that says this is that, but it could be suspiciously like that."
"What was called the blessed hope of the Bible is that one day Jesus Christ would come back again, start a whole new era, that this world order that we know would change into something that would be wonderful that we'd call the millennium," he continued. "And before that good time comes there will be some difficult days and there will be likened to what a woman goes through in labor just before she brings forth a child."
When asked if the world was approaching that moment, Robertson said, "It's possible. I don't have any special revelation to say it is but the Bible does indicate such a time will happen in the end of time. And could this be it? It might be." Hurricane Katrina left more than 1,200 people dead in the Gulf Coast region of the U.S., while the rising death toll from this weekend's earthquake in Pakistan, Afghanistan and India is in the 20,000 to 30,000 range thus far. On Dec. 26, an estimated 275,000 people lost their lives from a tsunami sparked by an undersea earthquake in the Indian Ocean. Some New Testament verses often cited by Christians regarding signs of the end of this present age before the return of Jesus to Earth include: "For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows." (Matthew 24:7-8) "And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;" (Luke 21:25). Robertson isn't the only one raising the End Times issue, as author and WorldNetDaily columnist Hal Lindsey has weighed in.
"It seems clear that the prophetic times I have been expecting for decades have finally arrived. And even worse, it appears that the judgment of America has begun," Lindsey said on the Sept. 9 broadcast of the "International Intelligence Briefing" on the Trinity Broadcasting Network. "I warn continually that the last days lineup of world powers does not include anything resembling the United States of America. Instead, a revived Roman Empire in Europe is to rule the West, and then the world. "
The so-called 'charismatic' crowd loves to prophec modern events compared to Biblical Prophecy. But it's just MORE of the 'Blind leading the blind!' How could any of these apostate preachers have a 'special' insight into things of prophecy, when they don't understand the MOST Basic concepts of salvation and faith? NOTHING they say can be trusted as reliable. As the religious leaders in Jesus' time, they have MISSED the point! NONE of them recognized Jesus as the Messiah of Old Testament prophecy, even though they were in possession of the VERY Scriptures that revealed His Coming. The SAME is true today. These lying preachers, selling you a 'user friendly,' sin your way to heaven gospel, are of the same elk as the Pharisees who crucified the Lord of Glory. Interrupting global events in light of Bible Prophecy is just another way of adding to the bottom line. They have created an entire industry for books, tapes, movies, ect, and the modern church loves it! They sit waiting to be Raptured away while Judgment is lurking at the doors!
Quoting half verses and out of Context passages, Robertson attempts to prove his point, that we are in the 'end times' and the return of Christ is right around the corner. But as the Old Testament Prophet said, "Woe to you who desire the Day of the Lord! For what good is the Day of the Lord to you? It will be darkness and not light." Amos5:18. While he sits on his Mountain of Wealth and worldly power, he arrogantly draws MANY into his web of deceit. Enjoy it Now, because when the Lord DOES Return, their will be HELL to pay....

The Fellowship of His Sufferings
"That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His Death." Phil. 13:10

You can only Know Christ in the Power of His resurrection if you are willing to partake in the fellowship of His sufferings. That's why FEW will enter the Kingdom. The Narrow Gate & Difficult Path may not be preached in the modern church, but nothing can change the Truth of Christ's Own Gospel! Matt 7:13-23
You will either take on the Mind of Christ, Phil. 12:5, Crucify your own passions & desires, Ga1 5:24, Purify your heart by obedience to the Truth, I Pet l :22, or continue to walk in darkness making a false profession of faith. You may think yourself saved by Grace through faith, not of works, Eph 2:8-9, but unless your life is showing forth the EVIDENCE of true conversion you have received the grace of God in Vain! ll Cor 15:2
When All things become New, ll Cor 5:I7, you will take on a New attitude about sin. You will stop making excuses and Start 'Hungering and Thirsting after Righteousness!' If you are destitute of this desire for genuine heart purity and freedom from the bondage of sin, you HAVE NOT Received the Living Christ! Rom 6:15-18
One of the Clearest signs of phony Christianity in today's converts is a lax attitude toward sin. Because you have NEVER heard the true message of scripture, you remain in bondage to your sin, believing yourself to be saved by Grace, when you haven't one single shred of Obedient Faith in your heart!
"Do you NOT know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one's slave whom you obey, whether sin to death or obedience to righteousness. But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you OBEYED from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. Stated in human terms for the weakness of your flesh!
Yet you will continue in your delusion, professing to know Christ and be assured of heaven when you die, while ignoring the Word of God and living your worldly lifestyle.
Most people have only heard half of the Gospel. They know that Christ loves them, that He lived, died and rose again for the sins of man. And if they 'believe* in Him they have eternal salvation through His name.
But they have no idea whatsoever that God intends to Judge sin and take vengeance on the sinners who refuse to obey His Truth! Rom 2:7-10
"When the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not OBEY the gospel. These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord!" 2 Thess 1:8-9
This is why the Apostles warned those who would listen, to be Saved from this perverse generation! Acts 2:40. FLEE to God, Obey Him, forsake your sinful ways!
But you still think all that's required is for you to believe in Christ and everything will be just fine. Even if you never do anything to prove you Love God. That's why you won't heed His warnings, even given in love.
"Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, patience and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?" Rom 2:4
The Reason you think God is 'blessing' your life is because He's giving you time to REPENT before He pours out His wrath on your head!
"Therefore consider the goodness and Severity of God: on those who fell severity, but toward you goodness, IF you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off!" Rom 11:22 Is it fair for your preachers to Withhold these warnings? God Will Judge sin according to the scriptures. How awful to appear at the Great Judgment not knowing that you Will be sent away in sorrow because you NEVER obeyed God! Matt 7:21-23 You will be crying out for the blood of the preachers who never took the time to warn you!
Although all men are without excuse before God, the stricter Judgment goes to the preachers. Woe unto them for withholding the 'severity' of God. James 3:1. They could have at least made an effort to define what 'believe' means. But all they did was tell you time and again, 'Just believe on Christ and everything will be fine.' Had they included a brief description of what believing really is, it may have made a difference! "Trust in, Cling to, rely on." Is the literal meaning of the word. Quite a bit more than just 'knowing'.

Unless you are 'Making every effort' to enter by the Narrow Gate, Luke 13:24 and Obeying the Words of Christ as revealed in His Word, John 14:15, you're just kidding yourself about salvation. Everybody 'thinks' they're saved, but FEW really are. Don't wait until the Judgment to find out. God says... "He will render to each one according to his deeds. Eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor & immortality, but to those who are self-seeking & DO NOT OBEY the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation & wrath. " Rom 2:7-8
You cannot explain it away. There's no getting around it. Being Saved means following Jesus to the end. He said by: 'PATIENT CONTINUANCE' in doing good. What more do you need?
Obedience to the Truth will save your soul! Otherwise your 'knowing' is in Vain. Ask yourself, "Why do I profess to know God and NEVER read His Word, Obey His commandments, witness to others, or Purify my heart? I John 2:3-6 The Bible says you can 'Deceive yourself' by NOT being a DOER of the Word! James 1:22
You can partake in the Power of His resurrection & the fellowship of his sufferings, NOT by self debasement, but by Taking on the Mind of Christ and letting Him purity your motives, destroy your self-seeking and transform you into a true Child of God.

Fatal Mistakes
The Biggest mistake you could make is thinking you are bound for heaven when you die, while in reality the wrath of God is abiding on your head. Most people are under the assumption that God will welcome them into His Kingdom at death because they have acknowledged His Name. But they are sadly mistaken.
The worst possible situation you could be in is self- deception. You are hearing God's Word but NEVER putting it into practice! (Luke 8:21) Thus faith, in your mind is something vague and mysterious, not based on the Solid foundation of 'Keeping His Commandments!' (John 14: 15) You are under the false impression that God has forgiven your sins while you CONTINUE to enjoy them! (Rom 6:1, 15)
Grace therefore gives you permission to keep on sinning, although you may not be a complete reprobate, inwardly your conscience is defiled by the corruption of lust. Putting to death the misdeeds of the body is something FAR from your mind. Yet this alone is the fundamental principle of the Gospel message.
Regardless what is preached as the 'truth' at your local church, THIS is what the Bible has declared! (2Tim 2:19, 1John 2:16-17) Yours is to believe it, or reject it, but know that the consequences are eternal.
Jesus said, "Blessed are the Pure of heart for they shall see God!" Matt 5:8
(You can be certain that NO ONE else will. ONLY those Purified from the inward and outward defilement of sin by His Grace will inherit the Kingdom.)
"The PURPOSE of the Commandment is love from a Pure heart, from a good conscience, from sincere faith!" 1 Tim 1:5
Grace is NOT an excuse to keep on sinning, or a cloak for 'inward' defilement. The entire purpose of salvation by Grace is to REMOVE the inward corruption of selfishness from your heart! But unless you put to death the deeds of body by the Spirit, you will die and go to hell. (Rom 8:13, GaI. 5:24)
Listen to the Prophet; "Then I will sprinkle clean water on you and you shall be clean. I will cleanse you from ALL your filthiness and double-minded ways! I will give you a NEW heart and put My Spirit within you. I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh, .I will put MY Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My Statues and KEEP My Commandments!" Ezk. 36:25-27
This happens by GRACE through FAITH, BUT it MUST occur in reality within your heart or heaven will NEVER be your final destination,
If you continue in a life of selfish ambition, seeking after the things of the world and taking pleasure in your sins, your faith will be in Vain. You may indeed 'believe', but the 'devils believe!' (Js 2:19) NO ONE becomes a new creation in Christ without FIRST dying to Self.
"Unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it abides alone, but if it dies it produces much grain. He who loves his life will LOSE it and he who hates his life in this world will find it for eternal life." John 12:24-25
COUNT on it. Jesus has declared the truth of entering into life eternal. IF you continue to live according to the flesh you will DJE and go to hell. BUT if by the Spirit of God you put to death the deeds of the body you will live, eternally! Rom 8:13
This is the grand difference between you and the devils. YOU have a choice and the means by which to lay aside the carnal mind that will destroy you! (Rom 8:6) By 'Crucifying' the flesh with it's-passions and desires and walking in Newness of life. But this requires effort.
The BIGGEST mistake you could make at this point is being assured by the false teachers that you are a child of God while you remain in bondage to the inward corruption of sin. NOTHING could be further from the truth. Grace WILL NOT accommodate your sin or make up for your lack of Obedience to the faith. You may cling to a false notion that your 'faith' is genuine, but if you CONTINUE in your deception, know that your conscience will soon be hardened by sin. (Heb. 3:12-14)
It doesn't matter what your pastor has to say. Examine the Scriptures! "Come let us REASON together!" says the Lord. Isaiah l:18
If your soul is Void of inward Purity and a Steadfast enduring faith, you will NOT go to heaven when you die.
(Rom2:7 -8 Is how you inherit life eternal)
The works of the flesh are obvious, Gal. 5:19-2l, they include: adultery, fornication (real or imagined) uncleanness, indecent behavior, idolatry, lack of Self-Control! Hatred, selfish ambition, envy, murder, drunkenness and the like. READ what the passage has to say about these things: "THOSE who DO such things WILL NOT inherit the Kingdom of God!"
EVIDENCE of the New Birth is FRUIT that Remains! (John 15:16) The OPPOSITE of Selfishness. GaI. 5:22-23: "Love, Joy, Peace, Endurance, Self-Control, Kindness, Meekness and Faithfulness!"
Are these evident in you? Are you DAILY denying yourself, walking in love toward your fellow man, meek, kind, your inner passions under Control of the Spirit? THIS is the HOPE of eternal life! (Rom. 8:16)
If Newness of Life is not actively at work in your heart transforming you from glory to glory and putting to death the inward corruption of your flesh, you are NOT a child of God. (Rom. 8:9)
You Cannot blend Darkness with Light, Purity with impurity. If Christ is in you, HIS IMAGE and likeness are Evident in your behavior. It doesn't matter what your preacher says, 'Carnal Christianity' is a MYTH! Christ is NOT a minister of sin. When you Die to Self, in HIM, you have your FRUIT to holiness and the END thereof is EVERLASTING LIFE! Rom. 6:22
Stop believing a lie and enter into the True Vine.

Set aside your religious notions for a moment and ask yourself: "What is my eternal destination and what evidence can I produce that I KNOW I am keeping God's Commandments?"
The Bible plainly says that IF you Love Jesus, you WILL Keep His Commandments. What exactly does this mean to you? That you can Keep some and not others, or only the ones you prefer and disregard the rest? MOST professing Christians live as though none of these things matter. Do you?
What are the most important truths? When Jesus preached the Gospel message He told us that the Way was Difficult and the Gate Narrow and only a FEW would be able to enter in. In fact, He told us to MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO ENTER IN!
"Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and not be able!" Luke 13:24
Most of the professing Christians who attend church regularly aren't making the slightest 'effort' to Enter by the Narrow Gate.' WHY? Scripture commands it. Jesus Himself told you the way to life is Narrow and difficult and the way to destruction is broad and wide.
Why are the preachers telling something different? The real question is: Who are YOU going to believe!?"
Every Bible tract in existence indicates that the Way to life is a simple 'repeat after me' formula that confesses Jesus as Lord and acknowledges that you believe in Him. Millions have done this very thing and consider themselves 'born again' and 100% certain of heaven when they die!
Yet Jesus said, "More blessed are those who hear the Word of God and Keep it!" Luke 11:28
How important is this? Is the 'Word of God' merely to 'believe' in Jesus and forget the other things He said?
Regardless where you THINK you stand on this matter, the important thing is 'Are you KEEPING His Commandments' And that includes a WHOLE lot more than just knowing He is the Son of God.
Even the devils acknowledge Him as God! James 2: 19 Does that save them? OF COURSE NOT! Faith alone is Not the Saving Faith described in scripture. The Faith Jesus spoke of involves the following:
Daily Self Denial. Walking in the light as he is in the Light.
Purity of heart and life, and Enduring to the end! .
Luke 9:23, John 8:12, Matt. 5:8, 10:22, 7:24-27, John 3:20-21

Otherwise it's continue in your religious facade, making a 'profession' of faith, but denying the Power of God to deliver you from your secret sins. Titus 1:16 No wonder the Bible says, How can we escape if we neglect so great a salvation. Heb2:3
God has provided these 'Exceeding great and precious promises that through these you may escape the corruption that is in the world through lust! 2Pet. l:4 And all you can do is make excuses for your sin, justify your complacency and pretend you have assurance!
How sad it will be at the Great Judgment when the Lord sends you away with the multitudes of professing believers who 'worked', 'prayed', went to church and did their best to convince themselves and others they were saved. "I NEVER KNEW YOU," The Lord will say, Mat. 7:21-23, "Depart from Me,"

The Most Important truth is the most basic: Have you died to self so Christ can live through you? Can you truly say that your life is hidden with Christ in GOD and Sin no longer has dominion over you? If not, you're only fooling yourself: God knows your heart.

The reason is that ANYONE can 'accept' Jesus as their personal Savior, as you have done, BUT FEW OBEY Him! And since it is by OBEDIENCE to God's Word that the heart is made Pure in faith, you remain in your sins, lost and deceived. Hearing the Word but not Putting it into Practice! Luke 8:21
NOTHING is more common than a 'FORM' of godliness 'Without the Power of the Holy Spirit to Deny the sinful flesh.
Scripture says that the Purpose of the Commandment is Love from a PURE heart, from a good conscience from sincere Faith. (1 Tim l:5) Without heart Purity, no one will see God. (Mt 5:8) If you are still in bondage to the inward corruption of sin, it's CERTAIN you have NOT been Born Again! A parrot can repeat a prayer. The 'Devils believe!' You cannot live your life with an appearance of religion, addicted to carnal behavior and go to heaven when you die. The preachers are lying to you!
Attending church to sooth a guilty conscience is a vain attempt at true salvation. You're only kidding yourself, pretending to be a Christian. Most people who 'believe' in Christ are LOST in their sin simply because they have NEVER OBEYED His Word!
Men may convince you that your sins are forgiven in Christ because you have professed to believe, BUT
Without the Divine Life of Christ dwelling in you, putting to death the deeds of body, Crucifying the flesh with its passions and desires, you remain in bondage to sin.
Millions profess to be saved by Grace who have not a single shred of this Divine Life in them, They cling to a worldly lifestyle and suppose the 'outward' appearance will suffice, The message they are accustomed to hearing is the 'User friendly' version of the Gospel: No repentance, Self denial, death to the flesh or suffering for Christ. It's very RARE to find anyone in the established church today who is striving to enter by the Narrow Gate, hungering & thirsting for the Righteousness of Christ or denying anything that would reproach their precious Lord & His message.
Confronted with the truth of Scripture these people are defiant! Outraged that anyone would challenge their nominal profession of faith. It's Faith without Works, in their minds. But rather it's Faith without EVIDENCE! (James 2:17-22)
The Bible says to "Examine Yourself As to whether you are in the. faith. PROVE yourself! Do you not know that Jesus is in you, unless you fail to pass the test!" 2Cor 13:5
This is a SAFEGUARD for your eternal benefit. Wouldn't it be better to know now that your faith is in Vain? When is the last time you heard a preacher issue this challenge, or ask you to produce Evidence that Christ is dwelling in you? If he cared about your soul, he wouldn't hesitate for a single moment to expose your false hopes. God is Love, BUT Love hates Falsehood! (lCor 13:6) and despises hypocrisy.
What is Faith if not Obedience to God's Word? Faith comes by hearing the Word. The Implanted Word saves your soul. JESUS IS THE WORD! How can you follow Him if you refuse to Obey?
And how can you Obey without His Spirit dwelling in your heart? Who will inherit eternal life? "Eternal life will be given ONLY to those who by Patient Continuance in doing good, seek for glory, honor and immortality. Those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, receive indignation and wrath." Rom 2:7-8
You have the Authority of God's Word to guarantee this. God rewards those who 'Diligently' seek Him out and KEEP His Commandments! (Heb l1:6, John14:15) Blessed are they who HUNGER & THIRST for Righteousness, NOT those who 'claim' to believe and follow their selfish ambitions to destruction.
By Faith the heart is made PURE. By faith the Power of sin is put to death. By faith you WALK in newness of life I (lPet l:22, 1 John 5:4, Rom 6:6) Everything is dependent on your willingness to OBEY God.
Grace will NOT accommodate your sin nor will it make up for your lack of obedience to the truth. Lust, jealousy, envy, strife, anger, lack of self-control are WORKS of the flesh, NOT the Spirit. (Ga1 5:19-21)
The Grace that brings salvation produces the EXACT opposite! (Titus 2:11-14) It teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts and live godly, self controlled and upright lives in the present age!
The exceeding Great and precious promises of God are given to deliver you from the corrupting influence of sin and impart to you the Divine Nature of Christ. 2Pet l:4 No one born of God can continue in sin. 1John 3:9
NOTHING in Scripture permits immoral behavior to enter the Kingdom of God. Grace is NOT a cloak for unrighteous behavior. You CANNOT be saved of the guilt and punishment of sin while you remain in bondage to the Power of sin!
If you are resting your eternal hope on the modern version of Grace that pronounces you righteous while you remain unrighteous, you have been deceived by the great deceiver! Whom the Son sets Free is FREE INDEED! Free from the bondage of sin. (John 8:30-36)
Millions claim to KNOW HIM, but FEW are building on the Solid Rock of His Truth! (Matt 7:13-27) He said, DIG DEEP! Luke 6:48 Don't be among the deceived at Judgment Day, claiming to know Him while your heart remained in bondage to Self.
"IF ANYONE Comes to you and DOES NOT bring THIS DOCTRINE (the doctrine that is according to godliness, 1Tim6:5) DO NOT receive him into your house nor greet him, for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds!" 1John 10-11

Nothing is more certain than WHAT you Believe to be the truth, because what you believe will determine your conduct, behavior and inward conscience. IF you believe that NOTHING you do will effect the outcome of your final salvation, once you have 'accepted Christ as your personal savior', you will inevitably accept a loose form of godliness and be easily deceived by the various 'Winds of Doctrine' blowing strongly in the church today. The Devil's Gospel is preached far and wide from every platform and using every form of media under the sun. Satan's 'Angels of light' rule the day! (2Cor 11:13-15) The House of God has been turned into a corporate entity used for tax write offs and money making schemes. Pastors dance around the truth but avoid anything definitive that would harm their reputation or hinder their popularity. Trade Marks and copy-writes have taken the place of sincerity and an honest presentation of the Gospel Message. The result is a society turned inside out with compromise and complacency. The Work of Faith with Power, (2Thess 1:11) is equated with the 'works of the law' and therefore 'not required' as evidence of genuine salvation. As Jude 3-4 warned, they have turned the Grace of God into 'license' to sin! And those who follow such teaching are doomed to spend eternity in dark regret.
How to recognize a Savage Wolf: 1) They are 'Known by their Fruits', Matt7:15-20 (Rotten Fruit!) 2) They Preach themselves! Their entire ministry revolves around self-promotion. 3) They handle the Word of God deceitfully with much craftiness. 2Cor4:2-3 4) They Peddle the Word of God for money. 2Cor2:17, 1Tim6:5 5) They reject the Doctrine that is according to godliness. 1Tim6:1-5 6) They will exploit you with great swelling words of emptiness. 2Pet2:1-3, 18-19 7) With flattering speech they will deceive the hearts of the new convert! This is by no means a comprehensive list of false teachers. Such a directory would require a much larger internet site than this one! Our desire is to expose a Cross-Section of these savage wolves by posting their own QUOTES, taken from their books, sermons and teaching tapes. As Paul exposed the false teachers of his day, BY NAME, 2Tim2:17, we follow his example and confront them with their own words for spreading their deadly poison and overthrowing the faith of entire households. These men are slick, smooth and very polished at what they do. The average professing Christian, ungrounded in sound biblical doctrine, is easy prey for their prowess. Although they are 'Known' by the 'Rotten Fruit' they produce, MANY follow their destructive ways because it appeals to their sensual nature. Therefore GUARD yourself against this onslaught and DISCERN the Spirit of Truth from the spirit of error.

4) John Ankerberg, this 'savage wolf' will send your soul straight to hell ASAP! The Gospel he preaches is full of half truths and misleading claims. Although he, like most preachers these days, dances around the truth, he NEVER gets to the real nitty-gritty of genuine salvation in Christ. Follow his advice and wide up hearing those awful words at the Judgment, "I NEVER KNEW YOU! Depart from me you work practice wrongdoing!" Be advised, this exploiter is dangerous, read his comments at your own risk, taken straight off his web site and REFUTED by the Bible!
5) John MacArthur, Another in a long precession of 'savage wolves' spreading the gospel of death. What motivates these men, who can know, but one thing we do know, listen to their 'spin' and be found 'wanting' at the Judgment! McArthur is slick and very smooth, at times he sounds as though he is presenting the truth about discipleship and obedience, which has drawn many a sincere seeking believer into his web of deceit. But on closer observation, comparing scripture to scripture, we find much of his teaching to be 'Great swelling words of emptiness!' By turning the Grace of God into license to sin, he uses the examples of King David and others to 'prove' Salvation can never be lost no matter how grievous a person sins. HOWEVER the Scriptures tell a VERY different story.
6) Billy Graham, For more than thirty years Mr. Graham has been spreading his 'gospel of sin.' Although he may be of the utmost integrity and moral fiber in our society, he is NOT preaching 'Strive to enter by the Narrow Way' nor is he warning the people that 'continuing' in sin will be ruinous to their souls. Thousands if not millions of people have been duped into 'believing' they have salvation because they have responded to one of his huge altar calls and repeated some words. In fact if a detailed record of all his massive crusades were revealed, from beginning to now, chances are likely that the 'responders' over time would equal almost the entire population the United States! Yet the moral climate of our country has only gotten worse over the past four decades. If all these people were indeed 'saved,' as Mr. Graham and thousands of other preachers like him believe, WHY is our nation awash in pornography, violence and sexual immorality? The EVIDENCE speaks for itself to any honest observer. Preach a message designed to keep people in bondage to their sin nature and tell them that nothing can be done to prevent daily sin in thought, word and deed, and you have your answer. Churches that have 'known the depths of Satan' (Rev2:24) and wallow in sexual immorality.
7) Charles Swindoll, This wolf is fond of saying that you can 'deny Christ and He WON'T deny you!' Sadly he has lead millions astray with this false message of 'Grace.' He is exactly what Jude3-4 warned us about so long ago, 'ungodly men who turn the Grace of our God into LICENSE for immorality!'
8) Greg Laurie, Another false teacher so prevalent today. This one preaches a blatantly perverted 'man-centered' gospel and his popularity is soaring. A quick internet search will reveal much of his false teaching. He is a 'ravenous wolf' dressed in sheep's clothing, beware of his 'gospel of sin!'
9) Josh McDowell, The Personification of Matt7:15! Dressed in 'sheep's clothing' his appeal is overwhelming to the church of today. He is slick, well-groomed, professionally polished and VERY smooth. He has overthrown the faith of millions and is working on millions more. His influence is prolific, with dozens of books and articles to his credit and thousands of TV and radio appearances. The 'gospel of sin' (he promotes) is in great demand today and this Wolf is glad to oblige and collect the 'wages of unrighteousness'.
10) Charles Stanley. Here's a Wolf who preaches the EXACT Opposite of what the Bible has to say about sin, redemption and inheriting the kingdom, but millions follow him blindly down the Path to Destruction! Read his own quotes and be amazed how easily people are deceived into believing a false gospel and supporting the devil's ministry.
11) Adrian Rogers. Just more of the same. Another perfect example of the License to sin religion being preached far and wide today across our airwaves and in the churches. The question is NEVER 'how can I live a live pleasing unto the Lord, blameless in His sight, in sincerity and truth.' It's always 'HOW MUCH sin can I get away with and still make it in!' These men are quick to oblige with the ear pleasing answer. No matter how much they have to twist the Scriptures or pervert the truth, nothing is too much to protect their precious 'false' doctrine of eternal security.
12) Ray Comfort. This one is very slick. He has crossed over many denominational barriers with his 'Hell's best kept secret' series, in which he singles out modern evangelism for failing to preach the law to bring about conviction of sin and godly repentance. Although it sounds good, underneath lurks the 'monster' of eternal security! He effectively uses the smoke screen of 'they were never saved to begin with' to imply that those Born of God can never die! (spiritually) Even though Scripture NEVER makes this distinction but states Clearly that those who 'DO' such things, (as sexual immorality, drunkenness, etc) WILL NOT inherit the Kingdom!' 1Cor6:9-10. It would stand to reason that since these things are written in the Bible to 'followers' of Christ, that the writer is WARNING believers that certain types of behavior will keep them OUT of the Kingdom. This issue of salvation (true or false) is not in question here, only the FACT that sin will KILL you Spiritually, that's the warning.
13) Erwin Lutzer. Long time Pastor of Moody Bible Church in Chicago. Like his cohorts he packs them in preaching osas and the people love him for it. His central doctrine isn't much different than any of the others in this group, we merely include him to show yet another blatant example of the 'sin religion' so prevalent today in our churches.
